Project 'New Home'
A new home, a new life.
Five boys had moved into the community under the care of a Mozambican pastor and his family. There are now six boys, as Amilcar has been welcomed to 'New Home'
'New Home' is in Khongolote, approximately 15 Kilometers from the capital Maputo. An area with easy access to schools and public transport.
HiM has provided extra accommodation including a bedroom and a shower room, there is electricity and fresh water. The six boys are now living as part of a Mozambican family in a Mozambican community. George and Jill said that "It was remarkable to see how even in such a short space of time the boys seemed to have grown in confidence and stature." HiM is committed to supporting these boys for their food, clothing, education and well being, and we are most grateful that people are financing this project on a monthly basis.
An Added Bonus - A Mother who was lost.
Tia Routie is the mother of one of these boys and was found living in great poverty, with no home and unable to care for her child. With the support of HiM she has now moved into 'New Home' and will be helping pastor Jose and his wife Linda care for the boys and is reunited with her own son.
Matola Rio -Update
Work has been steadily progressing whilst George & Jill overcome all the usual problems. The first phase is the renovation of the existing house on the plot which is approaching completion, whereupon the second phase can begin subject to finances.
George and Jill have taken some of the boys to help to clear the rubble.
Electricity is now on and water will be soon connected.
Once the two houses are operational visitors will be able to stay and see for themselves the projects and people we want to help.
